The Best Pool Table Dining Combos
A dining top turns a game table into furniture. The question nobody answers in the listing is where the top lives when it is off.
How these picks were made: from published manufacturer specifications, governing-body standards and the room arithmetic - not from first-hand use. We have not played on these tables. Read the method.

Combination tables get bought for one of two reasons, and they are not the same purchase. Either the room genuinely has to do two jobs - it is a dining room that will occasionally be a game room - or somebody wants to disguise a pool table in a finished space. The first buyer should optimize for the dining top. The second should optimize for how the table looks with it on.
The three questions the listings do not answer
Where does the top live? A dining top for a 7-foot table is typically two or three panels, each several feet across, and together they weigh what a door weighs. They do not slide under a sofa. Before you buy, identify the actual wall, closet or garage rack where they will stand. This is the single most common regret in this category.
How many people does it take? Almost always two. If the top will be going on and off weekly and one person lives in the house, it will stop coming off.
Is the playfield really 7 feet? Frequently not. Combo tables often quote the frame size and carry a smaller playing surface - a 75 by 38-inch playfield inside an 84 by 47-inch frame is a compact table, not a 7-footer. Read the playfield number, not the frame number.

The picks
Ordered by how well each one does the non-pool job.

#1 · A room that must also be a dining room
Hathaway Park Avenue 7 ft Pool Table with Dining Top
A 7-foot table that takes a dining top and ships with two storage benches. Hathaway lists a 3/4-inch MDF build with K66 rubber cushions.
The complete package: a 7-foot table, a dining top, and two storage benches whose entire purpose is holding the accessories the setup generates. Hathaway lists a 3/4-inch MDF build with K66 rubber cushions and a nylon-wool blend cloth.
- What works
- Benches with storage solve the real problem - where the pieces live
- K66 cushions are a proper specification, not a generic claim
- Seats a full table for meals with the top on
- What does not
- Composite bed, so it is a family table rather than a serious one
- The dining top is heavy and takes two people to lift on and off

#2 · Three uses from one footprint
Hathaway Newport 7 ft 3-in-1 Pool / Table Tennis / Dining Table
Hathaway lists an 84 x 47 x 32-inch frame with a 75 x 38-inch playfield, a reversible table tennis top and a dining top that seats four to six.
Hathaway lists an 84 by 47 by 32-inch frame with a 75 by 38-inch playfield, a reversible table tennis top and a dining top seating four to six. Three games in a footprint smaller than a 7-foot table, with the compromises that implies.
- What works
- Published dimensions are specific, which is rarer than it should be
- Reversible top means two games without a second storage problem
- Smaller footprint than a true 7-footer
- What does not
- 75 by 38 inches is under a standard 7-foot playfield
- The table tennis surface is far from a regulation table
Skip it if: pool is the main game. A 75 by 38-inch playfield is a compact table, not a 7-footer with extras.

#3 · A finished room where it must not look like a game table
Playcraft Wolf Creek Pool Table with Dining Top
The dining-combo option that looks least like a games table when the top is on — which is usually the actual reason people buy a combo.
The one on this list that most convincingly reads as a dining table with the top on, which is usually the actual reason a combo gets bought. Expect to pay for that, and expect the top to be heavy enough that putting it on is a two-person job every time.
- What works
- Genuinely furniture-grade appearance with the top fitted
- Heavier build than the budget end of this category
- What does not
- Price sits well above the rest of this list
- Heavy top, so it will not be moved casually

#4 · A family room on a budget
Hathaway Maverick 7 ft Pool and Table Tennis Combo
Pool underneath, table tennis on top, K66 cushions on the rails. One footprint, two games, neither of them regulation.
Pool under a table tennis top with K66 cushions on the rails. No dining top, which keeps the price and the weight down - buy this if the second use you want is a game, not a meal.
- What works
- K66 cushions at a family-table price
- Lighter top than a solid dining panel
- What does not
- No dining surface at all
- Neither game is regulation size
The alternative nobody mentions
You can buy a dining top for a pool table you already own, or a standard table plus a separate top, rather than a purpose-built combo. It is often cheaper, the pool table is usually better, and the top is the same inconvenience either way. If the pool table matters more than the furniture, buy a proper table and add a top.
Equally, if the second use you want is table tennis rather than dining, a conversion top over a normal pool table costs far less than a combo and stores flatter.
How these were assessed
From published frame and playfield dimensions, stated cushion specifications and what each manufacturer includes in the box. We have not assembled or played on these tables. Where a manufacturer does not publish a playfield dimension separately from the frame, we say so rather than inferring one.
