Editorial Policy

How pages here are researched, written, dated and corrected - and the specific ways commission does not affect what we recommend.

This page sets out the standards every page on this site is written to, and what happens when one of them falls short.

Editorial independence

Cue & Cabinet earns commission through the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. That relationship does not affect what we recommend, in these specific ways:

  • No paid placement. No manufacturer, retailer or agency has paid for a product to appear here, for a particular position in a list, or for a particular description.
  • No ranking by commission rate. The ordering of every list on this site would be identical if the links earned nothing.
  • No pre-publication review. No manufacturer has seen any page before it went live, and none has editorial input.
  • No sponsored content. There is none on this site. If that ever changes it will be labeled unmistakably at the top of the page, not in a footer.
  • We say when not to buy. Several pages here recommend buying a different category entirely, or nothing. That is the test of whether any of the above is real.

Sourcing standards

  • Standards come from governing bodies, linked from the page that cites them - the WPA for pool, the WDF for darts, the ITTF for table tennis.
  • Product specifications come from the manufacturer's published figures. Where a maker does not publish a number, we leave it out rather than estimating it.
  • Arithmetic is shown, not asserted. Room sizes decompose into a formula you can check against your own room.
  • Conventions are labeled as conventions. The 6-inch stroke allowance and the practical room minimums are described as working figures, not regulations.
  • No scraped or paraphrased review text. Every word of judgment on this site is ours.

What we never publish

  • Fabricated testimonials or customer reviews. There are none on this site, and there never will be any that are not genuine and attributed.
  • Any claim of first-hand use. We have not played on these tables. The methodology page explains what we do instead.
  • Scores, star ratings or review counts. We have no rating process, so publishing a number would misrepresent what the judgment is.
  • Stored prices. No price figure is written into any page. Prices come from the live listing at the moment you click.
  • Invented credentials. The author's background is described exactly as it is, with no certifications, licenses or professional history that do not exist.
  • Fake urgency. No countdown timers, no 'only three left', no invented deal deadlines.

Authorship

Every page is written by Brijon M., the owner behind MadGrey LLC. There are no other contributors and no ghost bylines. Where a page carries a byline, the person named wrote it, and the Article schema on that page names the same person.

Updates and dates

Every article shows a published date and a last-updated date. The updated date changes when the content changes substantively - a revised recommendation, a corrected figure, a product added or removed. It does not change for a typo fix, and it is never refreshed automatically to make a page look newer than it is.

The sitemap reports the same real dates. A sitemap that claims every page changed on every deploy teaches search engines to ignore the field entirely, which costs us the one honest signal we have for saying a page was genuinely revised.

Corrections policy

  1. Report it. Email the page URL and what is wrong to the address below. Specifications change and products get discontinued; corrections are genuinely welcome.
  2. We verify it against the manufacturer's current published specification or the relevant governing-body standard.
  3. Factual errors are corrected promptly, and the page's updated date changes.
  4. Material corrections are noted on the page - if a recommendation changes because a figure was wrong, we say so rather than quietly editing it.
  5. Discontinued products are removed, and the page is reworked rather than left pointing at something you cannot buy.

Conflicts of interest

The author has no financial interest in any manufacturer or retailer named on this site beyond the Amazon Associates commission disclosed throughout. No free products have been received. If that changes, it will be disclosed on the affected pages.
