The Best Multi-Game Tables
Three games in one frame means three compromised games. Sometimes that is exactly the right purchase - here is when.
How these picks were made: from published manufacturer specifications, governing-body standards and the room arithmetic - not from first-hand use. We have not played on these tables. Read the method.

Multi-game tables are the most-returned product in a home game room, and the reason is always the same: people buy them expecting three good games and receive three adequate ones. Understood correctly, they are a reasonable purchase for a specific situation.
What each game gives up inside a combo frame
| Game | What it loses | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Pool | Playfield size and cushion depth | The frame must also carry a flat top and sometimes rods |
| Air hockey | Blower power | A big blower needs a sealed, dedicated cavity |
| Table tennis | Height, size and bounce | A top sitting on a pool frame is the wrong height and thickness |
| Foosball | Rod travel | The cabinet is sized for the other games, not for the rods |
| Shuffleboard | Length | A combo frame is never 12 feet long |
Notice the pattern: every compromise is structural, not a cost-cutting decision. A cabinet with three jobs cannot be optimized for any of them, and no amount of money fixes it.

The picks

#1 · A frame that lasts
RACK Triad 7 ft 3-in-1 Swivel Game Table
Pool, table tennis and air hockey on a swivel mechanism. The swivel is more robust than a lift-off top and takes more clearance.
Pool, table tennis and air hockey on a swivel rather than a lift-off top. A swivel is more robust than lifting panels on and off, and it means the second game is thirty seconds away rather than a two-person job.
- What works
- Swivel is quicker and more durable than lift-off tops
- 7 ft frame gives a usable pool playfield for a combo
- No panels to store
- What does not
- The swivel needs clearance all around to rotate
- Each game is still a compromised version

#2 · Mixed ages
Hathaway Matrix 54-in 7-in-1 Multi Game Table
Seven games on a 54-inch frame. Expect seven short games rather than one good one — that is the honest trade.
Seven games on a 54-inch frame. Expect seven short games rather than one good one - which, in a house with children of several ages, is genuinely the right trade for a few years.
- What works
- Covers a wide age range in one object
- Small footprint for the number of games
- What does not
- 54 in is small for every game it contains
- Nothing in it is a serious version of itself

#3 · A family budget
MD Sports 3-in-1 Combo Game Table
Pool, air hockey and table tennis in one frame at a family price. The blower and the cushions are both entry-level.
Pool, air hockey and table tennis in one frame at a family price. The blower is entry-level and the cushions are shallow - both are the consequence of the cabinet having three jobs.
- What works
- Lowest cost route to three games
- Light enough to move
- What does not
- Undersized blower
- Lift-off tops need storage

#4 · Two games done less badly
EastPoint NHL Power Play 80-in Air Hockey / Table Tennis Combo
Air hockey with a table tennis top over it, plus light-up corners. One footprint, two games, both compromised.
Two games rather than three, which is the better combo logic: fewer jobs for the cabinet means each one is compromised less. 80 inches is a usable air hockey length.
- What works
- Two games compromise less than three
- 80 in air hockey is a real size
- What does not
- The table tennis surface is far from regulation
- Blower still undersized versus a dedicated table

#5 · A dining room
Hathaway Newport 7 ft 3-in-1 Pool / Table Tennis / Dining Table
Hathaway lists an 84 x 47 x 32-inch frame with a 75 x 38-inch playfield, a reversible table tennis top and a dining top that seats four to six.
Pool, table tennis and a dining top on a published 84 by 47-inch frame with a 75 by 38-inch playfield. The third use being dining rather than a third game is what makes this one make sense.
- What works
- The dining top is a use the room actually needs
- Specific published dimensions
- What does not
- 75 by 38 in playfield is a compact table
- Dining top needs storing
Swivel, lift-off or reversible
How the games change matters as much as which games they are, because a change mechanism that is annoying means the second game never gets played.
- Swivel. The playfields are on a rotating frame. Quickest and most durable; needs clearance all around to rotate.
- Reversible top. One panel, two faces, flipped over. Simple and two-person; the second face is always the thinner one.
- Lift-off tops. Separate panels stored elsewhere. Most flexible, and the one that stops being used because the panels are in the garage.
Before buying any combo, decide where the removable pieces will live. If the answer is vague, choose a swivel.
The alternative worth pricing
A dedicated table plus a conversion top is usually better and often cheaper than a combo. A 7-foot pool table with a table tennis conversion top gives you a proper pool table and a decent table tennis surface for broadly combo money. The honest account of what combos include is here.
How these were chosen
On published frame and playfield dimensions, the change mechanism, and which games the frame has to serve. The compromise analysis follows from the structural requirements of each game rather than from testing we conducted.
